Question: If i am home schooled can i still get my drivers license when i turn 16?

I am 13 and my parents are thinking about home schooling me I was wondering if i could still get my drivers licenses when I turn 16? btw i live in texas

Sure you can. Home schools are considered to be private schools in Texas. As a private school, your parents can issue any Verification of Enrollment and Attendance needed for your provisional license. txdps.state.tx.us/ DriverLicense/ teenDriver.htm Good luck!

Lol yes, but im from PA and i know here you need six months of having a permit, but here you can only get it at 16, so 16 and 1/ 2

Yesssss(: you just need drivers ED and training. Go to DriversEd.com and take online classes I think it's 50 bucks. And As for drivers training you need to save up and hire a company to show you how to drive so you can get your permit, its required for both, take ur pink slip and that certificate of completion and take it to the DMV and take the written portion, schedule your behind the wheel test 6 months later, and then there you go ! DRIVERS LICENSE :D

Yes, All you need to do is get a certificate from the board of education saying that you are homeschooled. Then go get your permit. Then off to a Driver's Ed course. & then 9-12 months later you get your liscence. Really hope I helped you :)

Not anymore in Texas this is a way of punishing you for not being in their system This may be different for different DOT testing sites but in Amarillo / Canyon you cannot unless in public school . My sister was in private school .
